OKFB members to gather for annual meeting Nov. 8-10 in Oklahoma City klahoma Farm Bureau members will meet in Oklahoma City for the organization’s largest annual gathering during the 2024 OKFB annual meeting at the Omni Hotel and Convention Center in Oklahoma City, Nov. 8-10. Farm Bureau members will share their positive outlook by celebrating a year of grassroots achievement and programs as they look to create a brighter future for agriculture and rural Oklahoma. With numerous meetings, business sessions and awards for members to participate in, there is something for everyone at this year’s convention. Below is a sampling of the many opportunities Farm Bureau members have to gather and grow together. Grassroots business meetings
OKFB members will consider
and vote on proposed changes to the organization’s grassroots policy submitted by Farm Bureau members from around the state. The two business sessions on Saturday starting at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. will feature policy discussions, reports from OKFB member-led committees, the election of delegates to serve at the 2025 American Farm Bureau Convention and more. The policies voted upon by delegates at the OKFB annual meeting will serve as the organization’s guiding document for the 2025 Oklahoma legislative session. Election of leaders
OKFB members from districts two, five and eight will meet on Saturday, Nov. 9, to elect district directors who will represent grassroots Farm Bureau members on the OKFB state board. OKFB Women’s Leadership Committee members will vote for the committee’s chair position along with district two, five and eight representatives. Young Farmers and Ranchers members will also select committee members for districts
two, five and eight along with a new committee chair, at-large and Collegiate Farm Bureau representatives. Speaker highlights
OKFB members will have the opportunity to hear from a wide array of speakers sharing the latest information from the agriculture industry and beyond. U.S. Rep. Frank Lucas will speak at the Saturday evening awards banquet as OKFB celebrates his 2024 AFBF Distinguished Service Award, which was presented at the 2024 AFBF Convention in Salt Lake City in January. Oklahoma U.S. Sen. James Lankford will lead the Sunday morning worship service along with musical guests Blake and Jenna Bolerjack. Fellow Oklahoman and Texas A&M Agricultural and Food Policy Center research associate Bart Fischer will be featured at the Saturday evening dinner and awards banquet, and AFBF staff member Jessica Cabrera will lead a mental health discussion at the Friday Cultivating Healthy Minds Luncheon.
