Nurse’s scholarship applications due July 10 Applications for the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee’s Nurse’s Training Scholarship are due July 10, 2026. The annual scholarship program awards three $500 scholarships to students studying in a nursing program at an accredited college, university, vo-tech or trade school in Oklahoma. Applicants must be Oklahoma Farm Bureau members or a member of a Farm Bureau family. Applications must be completed online on OKFB’s website at okfb.news/NursesApp26.
Rural Growth Challenge Q2 business leads due June 30
Congressman Hern meets with OKFB members during roundtable discussion klahoma Congressman Kevin Hern of Oklahoma’s first congressional district made a special election-day visit Tuesday, June 16, to the Oklahoma Farm Bureau home office in Oklahoma City to visit with Farm Bureau members and get their perspectives on issues facing production agriculture. Nearly 30 OKFB members and guests discussed a wide array of agricultural issues and topics facing rural communities during the hour-long roundtable discussion, which was led by OKFB President Stacy Simunek. National issues that Farm Bureau members discussed with Rep. Hern included the need for a new farm bill;
the strain on agricultural producers as input costs rise and commodity prices are depressed; USDA’s New World screwworm response; international trade and diplomacy; Oklahoma farmers’ and ranchers’ need for black vulture control options; and the importance of sharing the agriculture story with consumers. Hern praised OKFB members’ involvement across numerous issues throughout his time in Congress and thanked them for their political engagement and advocacy efforts. “No matter where you go in the state, one thing has been a constant, and that’s Farm Bureau members,” Hern said.
Business leads for Oklahoma Farm Bureau’s Rural Growth Challenge Q2 2026 contest period must be submitted online by June 30. County Farm Bureau board members and leaders can identify rural businesses (located in communities with a population of 50,000 or less) that need support for growth or technical assistance, or those that have high-scalability potential. Each submitted lead should include the business name, contact information, county where the business is located, and a brief description of the business and its operations. Qualifying leads can include family members with new ideas or members of your community who may be planning to launch an innovative small business. Business leads can be submitted online at okfb.news/rgchallenge.
