Dearest Members, This year, the Center has had the immense honor of celebrating 45 years of transformation. In 1981, our beloved founder, Pat Potts, pursued a dream of providing support services for Oklahoma nonprofits. Today, we build on her vision, still working hand-in-hand with nonprofits like yours, achieving big things alongside our state’s charitable entities. Oklahoma’s nonprofit sector is strong, continuing as our state’s third-largest non-government employer. We connect our most vulnerable neighbors with critical resources in our communities, often when there is no one else to step up to the plate. While we are driven by our missions, the nonprofit organizations we all operate take a tremendous amount of resources to run – just like any other type of business. Our leaders have to keep the lights on, make payroll, generate revenue and more, all while the need for services increases and the funding environment changes by the minute. The Center walks alongside nonprofits with tools, resources and support that help build the capacity you need to thrive. Through professional development, one-on-one customized consulting, advocacy, membership, networking and much more, we endeavor to empower nonprofits across all of Oklahoma’s 77 counties. NONPROFIT LAW AND FINANCE CONFERENCE The Nonprofit Law and Finance Conference, presented every other year in the spring, brings together nonprofit, legal and finance professionals to discuss the latest trends in nonprofit and foundation management best practices.
REGIONAL SYMPOSIA These full-day professional development events feature presentations on relevant topics from a keynote speaker, as well as experienced local and statewide nonprofit leaders and community partners.

STANDARDS FOR EXCELLENCE ® Standards for Excellence 2.0 is a 16-hour comprehensive curriculum on the guiding principles and best practices that nonprofit organizations use to enhance their missions and show greater accountability to the public. Built around 78 benchmarks for high performance, it includes practical tools and policies to build a strong organization and stay legally compliant.

In 2021, the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits founded the Potts Family Legacy Society to honor our nonprofit members, volunteers and donors who have supported us over the years.
