PERIANN PULLIAM CEO Upward Transitions Where did you grow up, and do you have a favorite childhood memory? I was born in Jackson, Tenn. and moved to Oklahoma when I was eight. I still consider myself a Tennessee girl even though I mostly grew up in Lawton, with my four big brothers and little sister. My favorite memories are all the summer and Christmas trips we took “back home.” Staying connected to our family history and the places my parents and their parents grew up was incredibly special. Hearing my mother and father share stories from their youth helped me know them on a deeper level. For my birthday this year, I made a pilgrimage “back home” to visit some of my favorite places. The best part of the visit was sharing stories from my trip with my 86-year-old father when I returned home. What did you want to be when you grew up? In my teens, I developed a passion for photography and dreamed of traveling the world photographing beautiful places and famous people. My ultimate goal was to work See PYSK, Page 11

Village police seek officers By Eric Oesch Staff Writer Village Police Chief Russ Landon announced a search to hire up to two new police officers following recent approval by the city council. New openings for police officers in The Village are rare as the department is historically strong for a fully accredited, well-funded metro area police department.
