Nine Sixteenths is a fast, multimedia theatre piece exploring Janet Jackson’s career after the infamous 2004 Super Bowl incident, examining media control, backlash, and the scrutiny of Black women. Across three acts, four Black female performers blend theatre, dance,and lip sync to explore representation, pop culture, and reclamation.

Over seventy minutes, using only Shakespeare’s reordered words, Lear’s Shadow mischievously retraces the losses, the storm, and the folly of King Lear, offering a playful, poignant reflection on the great domestic tragedy. Contains vivid depictions of very poor parenting.
