August 2023 In 2021, the Hidalgo County Appraisal District informal and formal hearings total tax savings to property owners was an estimated $41 million. This was achieved through estimated reductions in property tax of $35 million at informal hearings and $6.2 million at Appraisal Review Board (formal) hearings.
July 2023 In 2021, Appraisal Review Board hearings in Hidalgo County generated near $6.2 million property tax savings, based on total tax assessment reductions of $248 million.
