Dallas Central Appraisal District’s (CAD) formal and informal hearing results are displayed below: The $1,076 million overall tax savings for accounts in Dallas CAD in 2022 surpasses the $663 million total property tax reductions in 2021. Property owners in Dallas County protested 159,490 accounts taxable value in 2022. Seventy-five percent of the informal and seventy-seven percent of the Appraisal Review Board property (ARB) tax protests filed in Dallas County were successful. For Dallas CAD, homeowners saved $60 million via informal protest and $47 million through ARB property tax protests. For commercial and other protests, in 2021 the percentage of informal hearings resulting in a reduction decreased about 79% and increased in 2022 about 93%. In 2021, total protests in Dallas County were about 147 thousand, but by 2022, this had increased to 159 thousand. August 2023 Dallas Central Appraisal District informal hearings generated an estimated property tax savings of $342 million. Formal hearings with the Appraisal Review Board(ARB) generated an additional tax savings of approximately $271 million, bringing the total tax savings to around $613 million for 2021.
July 2023 The Dallas Central Appraisal District yielded $10.9 billion in property tax assessment reductions at appraisal review board hearings. As a result, property owners in the county collectively realized close to $271 million in tax savings!
June 2023 The Dallas Central Appraisal District states the total amount of value reduction achieved through the informal process in 2021 was $13.6 billion. That translates to around a $342 million tax savings for Dallas County property owners.
May 2023 In Dallas County, 57,732 accounts were resolved informally and did not advance to the ARB in 2021. Of this number, 49,353 of the accounts, or 85% were settled with a reduction in value.
