Think your property could use better lighting along its adjacent alley? We can help. The Ocean City Development Corporation (OCDC), in coordination with the Town of Ocean City and the Ocean City Police Department, created a voluntary program for installing new light fixtures along alley ways in downtown Ocean City. The intent of the program is to provide lighting of the alleys for improved crime prevention and also to improve public safety for pedestrians and bicyclists. The program will reimburse property and business owners up to 50 percent of the cost of purchase and installation of light fix-
tures, up to a maximum of $500 assistance from OCDC. In order to qualify for the reimbursement: participation is first come/first served basis until funds have been expended The business or property must abut Washington Lane, south of 15th Street or abut Wilmington Lane between N. Division Street and 15th Street The light fixture(s) and placement must be LED for energy efficiency, and must comply with Downtown Alley Lighting Program standards and Town of Ocean City standards.
