Downtown Ocean City has everything Discover fun, food, shopping, events and entertainment in downtown OC If you’ve been to Downtown Ocean City before, you already know what July feels like. The air is warm and thick with salt, the beach is full from one end of the Boardwalk to the other, and the whole town seems to hum with the particular energy that only comes when summer reaches its peak. If you haven’t been to Downtown Ocean City in July, consider this your invitation. There is no better time to be here. The beach that anchors the south end of the Boardwalk is exactly what a beach is supposed to

be: wide, clean, free, and warm enough to stay in the water for hours. Ocean City's beach has been recognized among the top beaches in the country, and in the height of summer you understand why. The waves are reliable, the sand is well kept, and the Boardwalk running alongside it offers every distraction imaginable when you are ready to dry off. Amusements, arcades, seafood, ice cream, and surf shops: it’s all right there, and it’s all within walking distance. The first big event rolls in on Independence Day. ter than ever as we celebrate America's 250th birthday. On the evening of July 4th, live music kicks off at N. Division Street at 6 p.m., followed by a fireworks display over the ocean. Watching fireworks explode over the ocean from a blanket on the sand, with the Boardwalk glowing behind you, is the kind of summer moment that becomes a family tradition. Plan to arrive early, as the beach fills up quickly and the energy in the crowd is half the experience.
