Steady northwesterly winds literally pushed the water out of the Isle of Wight Bay Tuesday afternoon to make low tide even lower. Measurements from the NOAA station at the inlet showed the tide drop was 1.6 feet lower than normal. Anyone who wanted more information on the various shoals they might encounter by boat this spring and summer had only to look out the window to see the channels.
