STEVE KANNON WHILE THEY WON’T BE saddled with a policy that would put a sidewalk on both sides of their street, residents of an Elmira neighbourhood now face the stress of the unknown as they await Woolwich council’s final decision. Pushing for the installation of a second sidewalk during the planned reconstruction of Green Warbler Crescent and Grey Owl Drive, engineering staff also advocated for a blanket policy calling for sidewalks on both sides of every street in the township. Councillors, however, shot down that idea when it was tabled Nov. 10. Meeting again Tuesday night, they confirmed a request that council come up with a new approach, one that includes input from the public. As was the case last week, residents came out in numbers Nov. 17 to speak against an additional sidewalk on their lightly-trafficked streets. SIDEWALKS | 2

The Toyota Hockey Challenge pitted Waterloo, Kitchener, and Cambridge Minor Bantam AAA teams against each other in a round robin tournament to determine who would win an all expenses paid trip to Japan. Toyota Motor Hokkaido and Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada Inc. pay for the annual exchange, which is in its 19th year.
The Wolves will play the Tomakomai Allstars in Hokkaido, Japan during March Break of next year. Waterloo and Kitchener faced off against each other in 2013 too, where Waterloo was victorious. A Japanese team will come to the region in March of 2017 as part of the exchange. As the final seconds wound
