COMMUNIT Y IMPACT REPORT 2025

BUILDING A STRONGER FAYETTE

2025 HIGHLIGHTS

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

The Community Foundation of Fayette County (CFFC) experienced a year of meaningful progress, positive transitions, and renewed momentum. Guided by our mission to build a stronger Fayette County through inspired generosity, support for nonprofits, and lasting community impact - 2025 highlighted the difference we can make when people come together with a shared purpose.
A key moment this year was welcoming Jessica Hajek‑Bates as our new Chief Executive Officer. Jessica brings valuable experience, a thoughtful leadership style, and genuine dedication to Fayette County. She follows Renee Couser, who retired after 18 years of service that helped shape CFFC into the strong
foundation it is today. We are grateful for Reneeʼs contributions and are confident in the energy Jessica brings to this new chapter in our history.
We reached an important milestone with CFFCʼs move to 250 West Main Street in Uniontown. Our board made the strategic decision to invest in a permanent home as a long‑term asset, a step made possible thanks to the enduring generosity of Robert and Elouise Eberly. I want to thank everyone who contributed their time and expertise throughout the purchase, renovation, and relocation. This new centralized location creates a welcoming space that supports our continued growth and engagement within the community.
As we advanced our Strategic Plan (which continues to guide our efforts) we also introduced a comprehensive brand refresh. This includes a new logo, an updated website, and refreshed marketing materials, all launched in conjunction with the ribbon cutting of our new facility. These updates create a cohesive and modern identity that reflects the foundationʼs ties and dedication to serving Fayette County.
Thanks to the generosity of our donors, CFFC distributed $1.5 million in grants and scholarships in 2025. Initiatives such as Fayette Gives and the Gala of Giving continue to bring our community together and highlight the strong spirit of giving that exists in our present and past residents.
I encourage you to explore this Community Impact Report and reflect on the stories of generosity, partnership, and progress. Together, we are building a stronger and more vibrant Fayette County - uplifted by committed donors, dedicated nonprofits, and a shared belief in what is possible for our community.
Sincerely,
Ron Gabriel
2025-2026 Board Chair

10 REASONS TO GIVE
We are a local nonprofit with deep roots in the community.

ABOUT OUR VALUES WAYS TO DONATE
Integrity- Acting ethically and honoring our commitments to donors and the community is critical.
Stability - Permanent endowments and diligent stewardship will impact future generations
Community - Transformation is possible when individuals and organizations work together in common purpose.
Impact - Fayette County will be strong only when each and every individual within it is thriving.

We have broad expertise regarding community issues and needs.
We provide highly personalized service tailored to each individualʼs charitable and financial interests
Our funds help people invest in the causes they care about most
We accept a wide variety of assets and can facilitate the most complex forms of giving.
We partner with professional advisors to create highly effective approaches to charitable giving.
We offer maximum tax advantages for most gifts under state and federal law.
We multiply the impact of dollars by pooling them with other gifts and grants.
We build endowment funds that benefit the community for decades and create personal legacies.
We are a community leader, coordinating collaborative resources to create positive change.

POWER OF ENDOWMENT

Endowment is a seed that is planted and never stops growing. Consider establishing a charitable endowment that will grow and provide a steady, reliable stream of financial support that strengthens essential programs and services. Over time, the growth of endowments amplify our impact, ensuring that resources are available for todayʼs needs and for those that will arise decades from now.
Building a Stronger Fayette Fund
Consider investing in CFFCʼs general grantmaking endowment that will support Fayette County nonprofits in perpetuity.
The Building a Stronger Fayette Fund is CFFCʼs endowment for general grantmaking to benefit the community We award grants to local nonprofits to support arts and culture, education, community and economic development, health and human services, capacity building, and other areas of interest

Recent grants have supported nonprofit staff and their participants who use computer equipment, women preparing for the next step in their career with employment readiness, seniors who participate in weekly activities at a center, pets in need of spay/neuter/vaccine treatments, and community members seeking fresh produce at a food pantry.
Outdated, slow, and unreliable computers were creating unnecessary stress for the staff and clients of Domestic Violence Services of Southwestern Pennsylvania as they assisted participants with filing online Protection from Abuse (PFA) orders. Through a Building a Stronger Fayette Fund grant, they purchased two new computers and a monitor
"Survivors coming to our office are now met with a calmer, more organized process that minimizes wait times and technical delays. This not only supports the legal process but also contributes to their sense of safety and dignity in a moment when they need it most," said Maggie Novotny, the nonprofitʼs Chief Operating Officer.

LEGACY OF GIVING
How Do You Want to be Remembered?

Estate gifts, or legacy gifts, are a powerful way to create positive change in the community, by supporting charitable causes and organizations in perpetuity. CFFC can help you and your professional advisor plan an estate gift that will make a lasting impact in Fayette County for generations to come.

Pledge to support Fayette County nonprofits and causes for years to come with an estate gift to CFFC.
The PA Giving Pledge is a statewide campaign created to inspire Pennsylvanians to leave at least 5% of their estates to help future generations Sponsored by the Pennsylvania Community Foundation Association (PACFA), the PA Giving Pledge aims to tap into 5% of the estimated $418 billion transfer of wealth projected in PA by 2030, according to estimates by the Center for Rural Pennsylvania
Specifically, Fayette County is estimated to have a $2 22 billion transfer of wealth by 2030 If 5% of that was pledged in estate gifts and invested for growth, it would translate to $5.56 million being available each and every year to support Fayette County nonprofits and causes.
Fayette Countyʼs estimated transfer of wealth by 2030 $2.22 Billion $5.56 Million Pledge 5%
