Nate Mass
Nate Mass is the founder of the Washington PA Food Facebook group, a vibrant online community of over 36,000 members celebrating local restaurants, recipes and food culture. He has represented the group at festivals, organized fundraisers benefiting
the Washington County Food Bank and City Mission, and even cojudged culinary contests at local events. Through the group and his involvement in local events, Nate has helped spotlight the area’s dining scene while strengthening community connections.

Barry Niccolai
Barry Niccolai is the Chief Executive Officer of Centerville Clinics. Under his leadership, Centerville Clinics continues to grow, including the renovation and expansion of the Carmichaels clinic, a new, expanded Charleroi medical and dental office, a new, expanded Connellsville medical and dental office, the addition of Donora Family Medicine in 2019 with a new location in 2025 and the addition of the Washington pharmacy.
Niccolai’s achievements include the 2023 Pennsylvania Association of Community Health Centers Community Ambassador Apex Award and more than 40 years of service on the California Area School Board Niccolai gives back to the community by serving on boards and committees, including
on the PennWest Council of Trustees, the Mon Valley Career & Technology Center board, Center in the Woods board, the Three Rivers Alliance of Community Health Centers, the Brownsville Ambulance Service board and the Pennsylvania Association of Community Health Centers board. Niccolai has been twice selected for the Smart 50 Awards in Pittsburgh and is the past president of the California Volunteer Fire Department.
PERSON OF THE YEAR NOMINEE: Melissa Six
Melissa Six is the Founder & CEO of Compassionate Care Unlimited, a mission-driven company addressing the national nurse shortage through innovative, viable solutions.
She serves on the board of JHE, providing strategic insight to empower organizations through leadership development, and as
President of For Our Veterans Washington, PA, where she, as a female veteran, leads efforts to honor and support local veterans. Passionate about service, Melissa is dedicated to advancing nurse advocacy and giving back to her community through healthcare and veteran-focused initiatives.
Elena LaQuatra

Elena LaQuatra is the morning traffic anchor and noon news anchor for Pittsburgh’s Action News 4.
Elena joined WTAE in 2015 as a digital content creator for 4 the 412. After a reporting and anchoring stint at a television station in Erie, Elena returned to WTAE to a general assignment reporting role in 2018 before being promoted in 2021.
At the age of four, Elena lost 100% of her hearing in both ears to bacterial meningitis. After receiving a Cochlear Implant and spending years rehabilitating her listening and spoken language skills, Elena now excels in speech.
In her spare time, she serves as Mistress of Ceremonies for fundraising galas nationwide and as an ambassador and board member to numerous non-profit organizations. Elena was crowned Miss Pennsylvania USA in 2016 and competed in the nationally televised Miss USA pageant.
Her greatest passions include mentoring young women as a pageant coach, traveling, and spending time with her husband Jordan, daughter Emelina, family and friends.
Carole DeAngelo is the Director of Advertising and Events for the Observer-Reporter, the Dominion Post, Herald-Standard, The Almanac, the Greene County Messenger, Reimagine Main Street digital agency and the Be Local event division. In this role, she leads a dynamic team that coordinates some of the region’s most beloved community events, including the Greater Pittsburgh Food Truck Festival, Corks & Kegs, Kids Fest, First Fridays, the Holiday Market and All For Her. Carole’s commitment to her community extends beyond her professional role. She serves on several boards and volunteers with organizations close to her heart. Her dedication to leadership and community impact was recognized when she received the 2018 Athena Award.
When she’s not organizing events or serving her community, you’ll often find Carole enjoying a cup of coffee, reminding everyone around her of the simple power of being kind, spending time with her wife Becca and son Christian, or covered in paint behind an easel. She is also known for her personal motto: “We have one chance to make a difference. Make it count.”
