My name is Emmett McArthur. I am 14 years old and in my 6th year of 4-H. My steer's name is Bane and he is an Angus x Hereford/Angus. Bane is a steer that likes being brushed and scratched. With the halter on he leads okay and has only thown me into the fence a few times. He gets fed 4-H feed and barley every moring and night, and free choice hay in the pen during the day. He stays at my Grandpa and Grandma's farm, but we will be moving him to their house so I can work with him more. Sometimes he is a handful, but when he is calm he is a very nice steer to work with. He will be very tender eating and lots of meat to fill up your freezer space. Angus also have very good meat quality. I would like to thank Prairie Abattoir for buying my steer last year, I really appreciate your continued support. Hope to see you at the sale on July 3rd.

Hello my name is Brantley Kontzie and I’ve been in 4H for 8 years. My steer’s name is “Fat AL” and he is a black Simmental. Right now, my steer has been eating mashed up barley, 4H feed and some green 2nd cut hay. If your deep freeze is empty then you should buy my steer because he will fill it to the top with prime beef. I plan on putting this money towards buying more cows and extending my herd. Thank you for buying my steer.

My steers name is Ferdinand. I have worked really hard to make sure he is big and fat to fill your freezer. 4-H has been really fun, but my favourite part is when I get to go on the rides in the midway. Thank you to Prairie Roots Co-op for buying my steer last year.

My name is Maxine McArthur. I am 11 years old and this is my 5th year in 4-H. This year I have a steer named Batman, because he is all black. We feed him 4-H ration and barley mix and free choice grass/hay. He is an Angus crossed with an Angus Hereford,and he has a lot of meat on him! He lives at my grandparents farm, and I go there as much as I can. I like spending as much time with him as possible, which may not always be the best idea, because I get very attached. I am starting to become more confident with my steer and I think he will be a good one. I hope to see you at the fair on July 3rd. Hi my name is Layton Preston , I am 17 years old and in grade 11. This is my third year with Oakville 4H.This is my steer Rusty, he was born March 30 , 2025. I enjoy working with Rusty because I like working with animals and learning more about them. He really likes getting scratches on his head and brisket. I like spending extra time with him and I think it shows because he is usually pretty calm and relaxed. Working with him has taught me a lot about patience, responsibility and the demands of raising livestock. Thanks for taking the time to read about Rusty and I look forward to seeing you at the fair.
Hi! I’m Emersyn, I’m 10 years old and I’ve been a part of 4-H for the past 4 years. This year I am showing my Angus X steer, Onyx, who is named after the black and white gemstone.
I’m also bringing back my heifer Marigold from last year along with her calf, Pax, as part of my continuation project. I have loved watching them grow and learning even more about caring for cattle along the way. When I’m not in the barn, I stay busy as a competitive swimmer, gymnast, and I also love playing softball. Someday, I hope to become an Olympic swimmer!

Hi. My name is Kade Kontzie. I think you should buy my steer because well, let me start from the beginning. My steer’s name is “Tank”. I named him that because he is a tank! He is very quiet and has a lot of meat on his brisket. I promise he will be the best meat you will ever eat. You can lead him like it is nothing and he has a very nice shaped hind-end. He has a lot of muscle on his back legs.

My name is Layne Kontzie and I have been in 4-H for 8 years now. I have a black Simmental steer. He was born on Jan 12 of last year. My steer gets fed in a pen with five other animals. At the beginning of the season when I weaned my calf in Sept he got a blade of just grass hay and hammered barley for two months. In Nov I started buying “Full Throttle” which has corn, barley, oats and alfalfa pellets all soaked in molasses. It is the best quality grain there is out there. So, he got fed that with some straight hammered barley and 2nd cut alfalfa for hay which is our best quality hay. My steer has been fed the same for the last six months. What I would like to do with the money that my calf brings is to pay my share of the feed bill and pay off some loans I own to the farm. It is a lot of work to feed, blow out, halter breaking and attend to my calf, so I hope whoever purchases my calf really loves those steaks. Enjoy!

I chose this name when we were watching the Blue Jays in the playoffs and George Springer hit a home run to win the game. George is a Simmental steer born at Big Sky Land & Cattle Co. Hello, my name is Reid Munro. I am 14 years old and this is my seventh year in 4-H. I’d like to thank Cobbes Plumbing & Heating for buying my Grand Champion Steer last year. This year I raised a red Simmental/Angus cross steer named Ernie. You’ll see that he’s eaten very well and will probably get the meat sweats just looking at him. Hi my name is Korbin Preston, I am 12 years old. This is my third year with Oakville 4H. This year I brought steer his name is Lazer. I named him Lazer because he is the laziest calf I have ever seen. Lazer is an Angus Simmental cross. He was born April 13 2025. Last year I used my earnings from the sale to buy a Heifer to build my heard. Im not sure what I will do this year so it will just go into savings. I hope to see you at the fair and to whom ever picks him up at the sale I know he will be tasty.

Hi! My name is Isla, and I am 7 years old. This year I am excited to be showing my heifer, Bijoux. Bijoux is extra special to me because she is the calf from my brother's continuation project that he showed last year. Since then, Bijoux and I have both grown a lot, and we have been learning together every step of the way. We are excited to show off our new skills in the ring this year! One of my favorite things about 4-H is spending time with my animals and learning how to care for them. I enjoy working with Bijoux and watching her grow. My heifer is a polled Hereford and comes from my family farm. I like 4-H because I learn new fun things. I'm excited to show my animals at the fair this summer.

She was one of our bottle lambs this year. She was born February 5 2026. Because she was bottle raised she is pretty easy to work with ,and craves attention which can be annoying sometimes.
