Climbing towards confidence Someone’s driving 1st Gisborne Joeys up the wall! Joey Scouts from across the district enjoyed an action-packed two-night camp at Camp Warringal in May, taking part in a range of outdoor and adventure activities.
The camp, held in Whittlesea, gave Joeys the opportunity to try archery, cook damper over an open fire, take part in science experiments, enjoy campfire singing, play games, and test their skills in bush golf. The camp encouraged young Scouts to build confidence, learn new skills,
make new friends from across Victoria, and experience the spirit of adventure and teamwork in the outdoors. (More on page 18) Scouting is very popular in Gisborne, with the 1st Gisborne Scout Group and the 1st New Gisborne Scout Group
