Today is a celebration of creativity and community for a greater cause – one that touches each of us. It is an exclusive experience, bringing together the talents of local artists, musicians, food and wine producers, and the generosity of an extraordinary community. Its uniqueness lies not only in the beauty of the trail and the incredible local contributions, but in the powerful purpose it supports. Together, we honour Kelan’s legacy and support Kelan’s Gift in helping young drivers access life-saving driver training through the Street Smart programme, making our roads safer for all.

Kelan’s Gift was created by the Stroud family after the devastating loss of their son Kelan. Their vision is simple, yet powerful – to make a tangible difference so that fewer families ever have to experience the loss that they have. Kelan made a mistake – a split second decision due to his lack of experience –a risk faced by so many young drivers on our roads.
Kelan’s Gift aims to transform grief into hope, and loss into lifesaving impact. Through fundraising efforts like today’s sculpture trail, it ensures young people can access life-saving driver training through the Street Smart Programme, at no cost. This means our youth are better prepared, better supported, and safer on our roads.
At its heart, Kelan’s Gift is also a story about community – people coming together with creativity, generosity, and compassion, to honour Kelan’s legacy and make a real difference.
Street Smart, supported by Highlands, is a world-class, practical driver education programme designed specifically for young drivers and their parents or caregivers. More than just a driving course, it aims to shift the needle on the tragic toll of young lives lost behind the wheel.
Through hands-on training in a safe environment, Street Smart builds critical skills – hazard awareness, safe decision-making, vehicle control, and strategies to stay focused under pressure. By preparing young people for real-world challenges, Street Smart is helping shape safer roads and stronger futures for all.
We are proud to celebrate the incredible local talent behind Kelan’s Gift: Art on the Goldfields. Each artist has generously donated at least 30% of the sale price of their work to Kelan’s Gift. As you explore the trail, you’ll encounter a collection of stunning, original works created by talented local artists. Take the time to enjoy the beautiful setting and appreciate the skill and stories behind each piece.
