OnJune25, 1950, theinitialattackfrom NorthKoreamarkedthe beginningofaconflictthat wouldravageonforthree harrowingyears, undertheaid receivedfromtheUnitedStates andSovietUnion, which assistedSouthandNorthKorea respectively. Thefighting officiallyendedonJuly27th, 1953 yetitsrepercussions lingeredforyearstofollow.

Throughoutmy researchontheKoreanWar, I havegainedinsightintothe complexitiesofinternational alliances, politicalintricacies, andtherapidescalationof conflicts. Thisexperiencehas mademeawareofthe multifacetednatureofwar involvingpeople, nations, ideologies, infrastructure, and governance. Thewarโsimpact
onmyidentityasaSouth Koreanhasbeenprofound, connectingmetothestruggles andresilienceofmyancestors. Anexamplewouldbemy grandfather, whohadpassed awayfightingthiswar, which leftmygrandmothertosupport herfamilyinatimeoftragedy. Intermsofmyperspectiveon currentinternationalconflicts, it shapedmyviewsregarding contemporaryfeuds, highlightingtheenduring importanceofseemingly forgottenwars.
