LA DEVESA SCHOOL 1.2. ORGANISATION 1.2.1. RECEPTION Monday to Friday from 8.30 to 17.30 1.2.2. COLLECTING STUDENTS FROM THE SCHOOL • The driveway to the centre is reserved for staff and suppliers. Parents may use the outdoor parking. • Once the classes have begun. Please, go to reception. • Parents who come to the centre for any matter will be received by thereception staff. • To respect the smooth running of the school, collecting students will only take place at the end or start of a class in order to not interrupt classes. • Families who repeatedly delay the departure of their children more than 30 minutes, will be charged the extension hour rate. • When a student has to enter or be collected at a different time, parents need to notify the course tutor by letter or telephone. • Students may only be picked up by relatives or others listed on the registration form. If you require collection by any other person, you must notify the tutor or the staff in reception. If possible, include the appropriate written authorization. It is desirable that more than one updated phone number should be supplied to the centre.

LA DEVESA SCHOOL 1.2.3. MEDICINES Any medicines that a student has to take during the school day must be given to the School secretary or to the bus supervisor (if the student comes by their own means) together with the administration form for “Administration of medicines during school hours”. The school will not give any medicines without the prior notification of the student’s family. For security reasons the school will not return any medicines afterwards. So please only send the amount necessary to complete the treatment. Any relevant medical data (allergies, intolerances or other indications prescribed by a physician), must be communicated to the College by completing the form of the Centre for that purpose, accompanied by a medical certificate. Each school year, families should inform the Secretariat of the College for updating data. Any medical information (allergies, intolerances…) should be communicated to school by using the relevant school form accompanied by a medical certificate.To maintain the school register updated families should inform the school at the start of the new school year. If a student is ill (fever etc.) it is recommendable that they do not come to school as they will find it difficult to participate in class and the school will be unable to attend to them adequately.

LA DEVESA SCHOOL 1.2.4. SPECIAL DIETS Any special diets should be communicated to the School Secretary. If a student needs to have a special diet for a long period of time, then the notification should be accompanied by a medical certificate. 1.2.5. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The centre is not responsible for the custody or theft of any personal items of value to any student. It is advisable that students refrain from bringing to school VALUABLE PERSONAL EFFECTS such as MOBILE PHONES whose use is not allowed. 1.3 UNIFORM The students should wear their correct school uniform. 1st Cycle Pre-school: Sportswear, long or short tracksuit and shirt, overall and parka. 2nd cycle Pre-school, Primary and Secondary UNIFORM: shorts or long trousers, skirt or pinafore, short or long sleeve polo shirt, green jacket or green short jacket for pinafore and green parka. Green socks or tights. DARK BROWN SHOES. From 3 years old to 2nd year of primary school they also wear an overall. Secondary students can wear a sweatshirt. From 3 years to 2nd of Primary an overall is required.

LA DEVESA SCHOOL TRACKSUIT: winter tracksuit: long trousers and jacket, long-sleeved shirt; shorts and T-shirt for summer. In addition, other items such as trainers and athletic socks are mandatory, but there is no specific obligation from school. Students from 3 years to 2nd of Primary must attend school wearing sportswear when having PE or swimming (2 days) and uniform the rest of the days. On days when there is physical education, students from 1st to 4th grade of primary school should bring another La Devesa sports shirt to change into after class. Students from 3rd of Primary to 4th ESO will wear school uniform every day and have sports clothes to change into on the days they have PE class. The sweatshirt may only be worn by Secondary students. It will not be allowed to be worn on school trips and at school events. Different clothes are not allowed. It is required to come to school properly uniformed. Otherwise, entry to the classrooms is prohibited. Sixth Form students attend classes wearing casual street wear, as long as an adequate presence is observed which does not disturb any member of La Devesa School. Clothing which support doctrines or theories that advocate against human rights will not be acceptable. FAMILIES ARE REQUESTED TO TAKE THIS POINT SERIOUSLY AND COLLABORATE WITH US ENFORCING THIS STANDARD THAT IS PART OF OUR EDUCATION CENTRE PROJECT.

LA DEVESA SCHOOL 2. GRUPO SOROLLA EDUCATIONAL MODEL 2.1. METHODOLOGIES IN THE CLASSROOM They cover from the early physical, sensory and mental stimulation of children in school, to the most appropriate active learning methodologies for each stage and subject. The purpose is to stimulate both individual and cooperative work and the development of Key skills. In particular, Digital Technologies (ICT) are placed at the disposal of technology for learning and knowledge (TAC) to enhance a personalised design of the learning process. DIGITAL TOOLS Digital Tools is the project which integrates and supports all new methodologies used in the classroom such as personalised learning, project work, collaborative work and methodology, thanks to which results improve considerably. With Digital Tools we take the learning process beyond the classroom, breaking the physical barriers of the centre and making all resources available at any time, from anywhere and with any device. The only thing needed is an Internet connection. The Digital Tools project takes on greater importance in 4th grade Primary, where students start using a touch screen laptop that offers them access to all the resources and services offered by Digital Tools. Our commitment to new technologies is the same as the one in languages, since our goal is to provide our students with the digital certifications increasingly demanded in today´s labour market. We are an authorised “Imagine Academy Centre” and have integrated into our educational curriculum the preparation necessary for our students to get the MOS title (Microsoft Office Specialist), which is recognised worldwide. LA DEVESA SCHOOL We teach in the centre the subject called STEAM (which stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Maths), giving the opportunity to our students of working in a practical way with projects where new technologies have an important role (robotics, virtual reality, technological design and more). Students will be prepared for a future which is already here. The results achieved in this area give us a position as a successful model by the PUE (Proyecto Universidad Empresa) being considered a reference centre by Microsoft. Last school year, we hosted the National MOS Championship at our center. We also achieved the EU CODE WEEK SCHOOL label, which positions us as a reference center for the development of our students' digital competence at a European level until 2026. In the 2023-2024 school year, La Devesa School received the educational innovation award for its AI Connection project, based on artificial intelligence and its educational use. 2.2 LEARNING STRATEGIES. These cover all the studies and advances in Neuroeducation. This way, projects to stimulate emotional intelligence and multiple intelligences are presented, taking into account the different styles and learning speed to design a personalised learning process and a differentiated experience for each student. Various thinking skills are promoted (executive, divergent, convergent, creative, critical ...) with a multitude of activities integrated into the global syllabus of the student body. What is more, different strategies of formative and motivating evaluation are added, which not only evaluates the result, but also assesses the whole process, helping students to reflect on their way of learning. LA DEVESA SCHOOL PERSONALISED LEARNING As part of Devesa School educational commitment to and taking into account the importance we give to the individual characteristics of our students, we have developed a personalized educational project. The most important goal of personalised education is to turn the process of teaching-learning into an element of personal training. Choosing carefully different itineraries and getting students´ commitment and responsibility is key. Personalised education requires different ways of teaching and learning, according to the individual needs and requirements arisen. Therefore, teachers must implement multiple ways of working and assessment. This is a commitment to get to know what our students need and be on their side to achieve the goals they will need for their future. 2.3. INNOVATION AND QUALITY These are two areas that we have been developing and strengthening for some time at Grupo Sorolla, as we have our own departments with full-time staff devoted to management, evaluation and continuous improvement of learning processes. On the one hand, quality management systems include all school management processes. On the other hand, the Innovation Department investigates, analyses, adapts and devises new learning methodologies. It also evaluates the impact and effectiveness of innovation in the classroom, having several tools that permit us to know the results, and propose new strategies for improvement in a continuous and sustainable way over time. LA DEVESA SCHOOL 2.4. CITIZENSHIP AND VALUES Education in values and social skills are two aspects that concern us very much and to which we dedicate special attention. The entire Educational Community is involved in the ethical training of students, facilitating commitment to our ideas. Furthermore, students themselves are integrated into coexistence management in our centres. Peers collaborate in the creation and revision of rules that govern that coexistence and participate in mediation teams. 2.5. ACTIVE AND HEALTHY SCHOOL In this area of our GSE Pedagogical Model, attention is paid to safety in the school environment. Besides this, projects for a healthy lifestyle are planned. They include range from nutritional aspects to activities that develop physical and mental health to facilitate a healthy and fit lifestyle. We also promote participation in different daily events related to environment and social projects aimed at helping disadvantaged groups. 2.6 CAMBRIDGE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL Our centre became part of the Cambridge International Schools in 2014. This changed the educational offer provided to students and families, a decision based on our desire to find educational excellence at our school. The objective is to expand the areas of English, Maths, Science and ICT based on the contents and skills set out in the Cambridge Primary curriculum. In addition, ESO students are able to prepare for the exams of Secondary 1 or IGCSE in areas such as Global Perspectives, Science, English, French and German, Computer Studies, or Spanish as a first language.

LA DEVESA SCHOOL Being a Cambridge International School allows us to work with students around the world, sharing experiences with other teachers through forums, innovative practices and standards of international education and becoming part of a global learning community. Students are able to enrich and supplement their Spanish education with an International qualification recognized worldwide. For that reason, the exams are externally tested and performed with implementing rigorous controls and corrected by the University of Cambridge 2.7 ART, CREATIVITY AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP The last of the areas considered in our GSE Model is the one that develops entrepreneurship; projects in which students acquire experience in the creation of a virtual company and design and manufacture of products that are then sold for social purposes. Projects and activities that develop students’ creativity with a CultureMaker are also included. The methodology used is “Design Thinking”, which is systematically included in non-regulated subjects. However, it is mandatory for our students, such as STEAM. The artistic offer is completed with programmes of visual, corporal, Arts & Crafts, and musical expression, including the learning of musical instruments from an early. With the development of this entire Pedagogical Model, we consider a profile of Sorolla Group students based on the following features: autonomous, responsible, competent, creative, sensible and thoughtful, critical, with social values and skills, emotionally intelligent, able to work as a team, and definitely, “ready for the future”.

It was born as a pedagogical beacon, illuminating the path of our educational centres in response to an ambitious improvement plan (EFQM). The Innovation Department has become the heart of our educational mission, responsible for designing and promoting strategies that ensure cutting-edge teaching. Its fundamental purpose is to drive pedagogical transformation through the constant introduction of new ideas and approaches in the educational process. It focuses not only on improving existing methods but also on anticipating future needs, creating an environment where education is a dynamic and continuously evolving process. Pedagogical innovation is not only our goal but our passion and commitment, ensuring that every day, in every classroom, we are preparing our students for a bright and opportunity-filled future. 4.DEPARTMENT OF INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS In Grupo Sorolla Education, our International Relations Department continues to work on new projects, language courses, linguistic immersions, exchanges, hosting programs, etc., to give our students the opportunity to participate and improve their language skills, taking into consideration, age and ability. We develop projects in the Erasmus+ program of the European Union. This type of project allows our students to enrich their social skills while improving their language abilities. Equally interesting is the idea of hosting a foreign student for a period during the academic year and experiencing firsthand the opportunity to learn and form friendships. As part of curricular enrichment in preschool and primary classrooms, we have native speakers who, through fun and motivating activities, teach customs and routines that provide students with security and confidence to express themselves naturally in English. This curricular proposal promotes the acquisition of English, which we consider fundamental in the future profile of our students and aims to achieve appropriate certifications for their ages during their educational stage, such as Trinity Stars for preschool and first grade. In primary and secondary school, students take Cambridge exams: Young Learner exams in primary and KET, PET, FCE, and CAE in secondary school.

LA DEVESA SCHOOL In addition to this initiative, we have a cultural integration week at a private boarding school in England for 6th of Primary and a school exchange with Germany in 4th of Secondary. This year, we hope to launch our exchange with France for 4th of Secondary. Furthermore, supervised internships/work experience in vocational training cycles are also a very important part of the international department, including summer internships/work experience programmes for students aged 16+ in Ireland, which is a great fun and educational option for our students. Every year, we offer a wide variety of summer courses in several European countries, Canada, and America to perfect English, French, and German. We also offer the possibility of linguistic immersion for a term, quarter, semester, or academic year in different countries.

LA DEVESA SCHOOL A) PRE-PRIMARY EDUCATION Evaluation and control of psychomotor development and the degree of autonomy of all 2-years-old level. Conducting individualized psycho-pedagogical assessments and reports of 5-years-old students in order to detect developmental factors requiring stimulation, with the objective of starting the primary stage easily. B) PRIMARY EDUCATION Collective explorations of different skills in 4th Primary students, in order to maintain academic control and personal performance of students in the mid-primary stage. Group assessments for 6 Primary students (final stage), informing and counselling students about the different skills involved in the teachinglearning process. C) SECONDARY EDUCATION The focus in this stage is academic orientation. This implies counselling and advising students from a pedagogical as well as professional point of view, when choosing optional subjects or Baccalaureate modalities linked to higher education, or when conducting assessments to identify preferred career fields.

High-Performance Club, available throughout Compulsory Education. G) ADVICE AND COUNSEL FOR FAMILIES. The guidance team is available to assist families who have requested individual advice within a broad timetable. Its main objective is individualised advice on any problem or difficulty that may arise (poor school performance, socialisation, personality, behavioural problems, new students’ adaptations...) in relation to students. The guidance team coordinates different projects such as School Mediation, the Values Project and the Emotional Intelligence Programme which , is carried out in the classroom. HIGH ACHIEVING CLUB: The school has a high achieving club (HAC) to respond to students with characteristics associated with high skills and work with their needs, interests and motivations. 5.2 EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES AND NON-SCHOOL PERIODS At the beginning of school year 2026-2027 we offer, as in previous years, a series of activities which will be done outside of school periods, which seek to be a stimulus to develop other personal possibilities, not only after school classes (16:30 h. – 17:30) but also at midday 13:40 h. – 14:40h. We are well aware of the heavy workload, that’s why students work in the most fun and creative way possible. This type of activities will allow our students to develop new skills and strengthen their knowledge, which is acquired in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. EXTENDED HOURS SERVICE As every year, the School offers an extended hours service which goes from 7:30 to 8:30 and from 16:30 to 18:00 h. This service will work depending on the number of applications. Within this service, any period can be used at your convenience, provided that the minimum time is respected, which is half an hour. In the mornings, students can have breakfast at school, which consists of milk, milk with chocolate or juice, cereals or biscuits. Children can choose whatever they like most. LA DEVESA SCHOOL In the afternoon time some sports activities and games are programmed, and children have time for homework as well. We recognise that some of you will need this service occasionally, or just a few days per week. That is why we offer this service for individual hours, asking you please,if possible, to inform us previously. Check for prices of this hour extension service at the Administration Office. This charge will be reflected in the month bill, whether you have used the whole month service or occasionally. COEXISTENCE DAYS The social days will take place during the school vacations. Students will be able to enjoy and learn English at the same time. They are great fun, with interactive classes in the mornings, lots of activities in the afternoons , mornings and evenings and will give students an amazing experience with different classmates from other schools and spend a few days together. (camp). THEMATIC WEEK As usual, we offer you for the holiday periodssome courses which are aimed at learning while having fun. During these weeks, students will participate in lots of activities: creative workshops (make-up, painting, cooking), swimming, sports, traditional games, dancing, English activities, computer games, theatre, digital board... Next school year, 2025-2026 the school will be opened at Christmas Holidays and at Easter. Schedules will be organised once the course has started.

LA DEVESA SCHOOL CELEBRATE YOUR BIRTHDAY AT SCHOOL La Devesa School offers you the possibility that your children celebrate their HAPPY BIRTHDAY at school. They will be surrounded by their classmates, and they will have fun activities such as piñatas, face painting, storytelling, cooking workshops and traditional games led by qualified instructors; all of this, with the policy defined by school, which is IN ENGLISH. It will be an unforgettable evening in which your child will enjoy their day together with friends and family. Students will be collected from their classrooms, and families who are not able to attend the party can come to pick up their children at 19:30 h. DEVESA NIGHTS Themed nights which are carried out throughout the school year. They consist of spending Friday evening and night at school enjoying workshops, themed activities and sports. SATURDAY CLUB From October until May, on Saturdays from 9:30 h to 13:30 h. It is designed for Pre-primary (1, 2 and 3 years old), children have the possibility of enjoying Saturday morning playing games, having early childhood stimulation, psychomotor circuits, crafts, new technologies, dancing, English activities, and swimming for those who are more than 18 months… all of this led by school professionals. LA DEVESA SCHOOL For students who are in Pre-primary (4 and 5 years old) and Primary, a different programme is set up. This promotes the learning of English Children start to learn this language in a natural way, they begin to understand sentences and simple structures, how to express themselves in English, to reinforce this language knowledge, to learn new structures (oral and written), they learn how to cope with real situations, both in the oral and written way, and to improve their conversation skills. Moreover, they can take Trinity and Cambridge exams, and it will allow them to use new technologies as their working tools. At the same time, they can begin swimming or improve their techniques. They are going to be trained by qualified monitors prepared to work with children of this age, in small groups and divided by levels. SUMMER SCHOOL Just like every year, for the summer holidays, our school programmes courses are adapted to our families’ needs and to our students. Summer School is focused as an entertaining and fun way to learn English for children who are from 1 until 12 years old. They will enjoy summer swimming, dance and musical expression, songs, choreographies, cultural and artistic creativity, digital boards, art and crafts, plays and dances, psychomotor activities and the hour of code, all of this, following the thread or theme which is different every year. Besides, they will have the opportunity of spending some magical nights at school, surrounded by their friends.

LA DEVESA SCHOOL INTENSIVE CAMBRIDGE SUMMER La Devesa School offers both internal and external students, as well as responsible family members and adults, an intensive course in Summer to prepare themselves for sitting the Official Cambridge Exams. The most popular being PET (B1), FCE (B2) and CAE (C1), which assess the four sskills when learning a language: speaking, reading, writing, listening, as well as Use of English. Levels, B1 and B2 are the most indemand levels nowadays to apply for a job. Therefore, we offer a complete training to obtain the above-mentioned certificates. GET READY FOR SUMMER SCHOOL La Devesa School offers an intensive course during holidays, aimed at those students who want to reinforce core subject content, work, or reinforce certain areas, as well as to become familiar with the use of tablets and, know the school surroundings. In addition, this course can be very useful, because it has an individual approach, and it is very entertaining as well as useful from 5th primary to 4th ESO (Secondary). This course covers a variety of activities too, which deal with linguistic and digital competences. These skills will be needed by students to prepare for the upcoming school year. The teacher is constantly in touch with the different departments of the school to offer Personalised Learning. 5.3 TRANSPORT Next school year, our bus fleet will have, as in previous years, special baby seats for students who are 1 and 2 years old. Students will go with a bus assistant who will be in charge of taking care of them, picking them up and handing them over to families in the case of the younger children. LA DEVESA SCHOOL Once the route has been chosen as well as the bus stop, no changes will be allowed, unless it is a bus stop within the same bus and town. Exceptional circumstances will be treated by the Director of the school and the family affected by this. It is compulsory that parents go with their children to the bus stop as well as picking them up when they come back at the estimated time. In the event that they are picked up by other relatives or somebody else assigned by parents, the school must be informed, and only if identified and recognized by the bus assistant. No student will be handed unless recognised by the assistant. From 3rd of Primary onwards, if students do not have to be picked up by an adult, this will be notified to the school Administration Office. When student’s parents or responsibles, until 3rd Primary, are not at the bus stop at the estimated time, students will be sent back to school where they will be picked up. There, parents will be informed that this circumstance cannot happen again. If it happens again, this case will be treated by the Director. Students must be on time, behave properly, obey and respect the other people in the bus. An appropriate tone of voice will be maintained. Each student will sit in their assigned seat and will remain there during all the journey. Students will refrain themselves from eating and drinking. The use of safety belts is compulsory during the journey. It is advisable to leave school bags in the bus boot during the route for further students’ comfort.

LA DEVESA SCHOOL In the event that the bus is damaged, the Director of the school will assess the damaged caused to the bus and will inform, at his discretion, about the penalty to be applied to the student to the family. The bus will wait at the bus stop until the time set by the school schedule. If the student is not ready at the bus stop, the bus will resume its route to avoid delaying the journey. 5.4 DINING ROOM SERVICE The school dining room service has its own kitchen for food preparation, this allows us to adapt to our students' needs for reasons of age, diets, etc. A school menu will be given to families monthly via the school's digital platform across all educational levels. This service includes an afternoon snack for students who are in Pre-primary and Primary stages. During the mid-morning break, sandwiches and drinks will be sold to students who want to make use of this service. From the 4th year of Primary Education, students must request their lunch individually through their computers. To do this, we have created an exclusive form for lunches that will be available until 10:00 in the morning. The link to the form is located on the 3.0 resources page. The cost of the canteen service will depend on how many school days there are in one month, according to the school timetable. The service is mandatory from the 2016-2017 school year. Those students registered before this date who do not use this service, will have to leave the school grounds when the morning classes have finished, and return for the start of afternoon classes.

LA DEVESA SCHOOL It is strictly forbidden to use any school facility (sport areas included) for eating. A refund will only be issued to the student who is absent from the service for six or more consecutive school days due to a justified medical reason. Only in this case will 50% of the daily rate be reimbursed in the following month’s invoice. To ensure adequate compliance of the outlined objectives, as well as the correct running of the dinning room service, We believe it is crucial to establish a set of rules under the control of the General Services Manager. These rules refer to health objectives compliance, hygiene, food, social relationships, respect for the facilities and the materials of the school. The rules are the following: Students will come to the school grounds within the periods set by the school. To wash hands before and after eating. To go into the canteen in order and quietly, and sit in the assigned place. To eat with manners and tidiness, using the cutlery appropriately and maintaining a correct posture. To use an appropriate tone of voice to have an atmosphere of calm. When students finish eating, they will leave their trays, cutlery and food scraps in the recipients which are intended for that purpose. Diets will be justified by doctor certificates or written notifications signed by parents. Those students, who, for justified medical reasons, don’t use the Canteen Service for 6 consecutive days or more, shall be refunded 50% of the Canteen Service Day price in the next monthly invoice.

LA DEVESA SCHOOL 5.5 SHOP Uniforms are available at your disposal via LA DEVESA SCHOOL STORE ONLINE. Families of new students can only be seen in person during the months of July and September and by appointment. From the date of purchase, no exchanges or returns will be accepted after 15 days from the date of purchase. The cost will be included in the invoice of the following month. Until the 24th each month, any changes can be notified to the administration office in case students are not going to make use of the extracurricular classes or the bus service, or for bank account updates or other incidents. Otherwise, the fee will be charged, and the family will bear any return.
5.6. HEALTH CARE AND SOCIAL SECURITY The safety of our students is fundamental. For this reason, special emphasis is placed on medical cover for any incident that may occur. Families are encouraged to report any allergies of pupils promptly. At our school, we have a school nurse on duty throughout the entire school day who carries out the following duties: First aid and Accident cures: The nurse attends to any injuries, bruises, scratches, choking, use of defibrillators, etc. and keeps an exhaustive control of all the care given and the follow-up, sending a report to the families. Health agent: In charge of dispensing medication, allergen control, special diets and monitoring protocols in the event of possible health risks such as epidemics.

LA DEVESA SCHOOL Medical care: After an initial examination, he/she assesses whether or not medical assistance from our insurance is necessary. If necessary, the doctor will be at the centre within 10 minutes. In the event of an emergency, the doctor accompanies the student to the nearest hospital. He/she acts as a liaison between all school and health authorities. Technical Advisor: Represents a basic pillar of the interdisciplinary team in charge of health education, promoting healthy lifestyles in our students. Trainer: Responsible for school health programmes with the aim of preventing risky behaviour and achieving improvements in the health of our pupils. The nurse also provides training for teachers and pupils (anti-craving, first aid, etc.) and talks to families. We are a cardio-protected centre and as well as having a school nurse, teachers from all stages and administration and services staff are certified to be able to use anti-trauma devices, defibrillators and perform first aid. All these measures are not enough to ensure the health and integrity of our pupils. Minor accidents are immediately attended to by our School Nurse service. The school nurse, in coordination with the tutor, will notify families in writing or by telephone of the details of the incident and the actions taken. Serious accidents will be dealt with by the School Nurse in order to determine the intervention, if necessary, of the School Doctor who will come to the school. The family will be informed of the incident immediately, at the same time as the presence of the medical staff is requested; in this way, the family and the school act in coordination in the care of the pupil. The Medical Centre will follow up the injured pupil until the end of the prescribed treatment.
