Cameron Highlands is renowned for its remarkable natural beauty and agricultural significance. For generations, its cool climate and rich biodiversity have shaped its identity as one of Malaysia’s most popular travel destinations. Yet, like many environmentally sensitive landscapes, Cameron Highlands faces increasing pressures arising from rapid development, changing land-use patterns, intensive agriculture, and tourism growth. Balancing economic opportunities with environmental stewardship remains one of the most pressing challenges facing the region today. It is therefore encouraging and inspiring to witness the collaborative work presented in this publication. Through the National University of Singapore’s Landscape Architecture Design Studio, students engaged deeply with the realities of Cameron Highlands.
