Liu Jiaying (Project Director) & Yeo Rui Jia (Vice Project Director) Bachelor of Engineering (Civil Engineering), Class of 2025

“Operation Orion is a student-led Overseas Community Involvement Programme (OCIP) endorsed by the NUS Civil Engineering Club. Established in 2000, its pioneer batch travelled to Yangon, Myanmar, making it one of the longestrunning OCIPs at NUS. Over the past 25 years, the programme has expanded its scope to include various countries, some beyond Southeast Asia. During overseas expeditions, Operation Orion undertakes projects that benefit local communities, often incorporating infrastructure and educational elements while fostering cross-cultural learning. These experiences provide participants with valuable insights into different ways of life and cultural perspectives. In addition to overseas initiatives, the programme also engages in local community involvement projects, allowing students to apply their acquired knowledge to support communities in Singapore.”
