oday, most people can expect to live to 60 years and beyond. While this might seem like an unequivocal win for humanity, the other side of the coin is that, as a result, it also imparts an unprecedented sea change in the traditional composition of our societies. Many countries are experiencing growth in both the number and proportion of older persons in the population.
