THE 2024 COLLECTION

Introducing the SS24 collection from NÜ entitled Creators of the Sea.

From rocky cliffs to crashing waves, this season draws inspiration from the shapes, sounds and sights of coastal life. Translated into a myriad of textured separates, all designed to be mixed and matched, this collection centres on an evocative palette of monochromes, blues and wild red accent colours. Silhouettes are fluid and free, while abstract prints and deconstructed dark florals burst across garments with dramatic effect. Timeless staples such as denim and snake print offer endless versatility, while tailored jackets and blazers add an androgynous edge. We are also delighted to feature the work of Lise Reo, a NÜ employee and jeweller whose business Libopé served as the inspiration behind our SS24 collection. Every Libopé creation begins with the sourcing of shells and stones, collected from the shoreline by Lise, and which go on to be the focal point of each piece of jewellery.

CAPSULE 1

NEW SEASON, NEW YOU

Embrace all the textures and shades of natural beachscapes; cream weathered driftwood, tonal seashells washed up on the sand and aged fossils discovered on cliffs.

CAPSULE 2

NEW SEASON, NEW YOU

Capture all the colours of a coastal landscape. From the creamy sand underfoot to the fresh blue of crashing waves, this evocative palette has us dreaming of a place by the sea.

Moule Frites

INGREDIENTS

• 2.5kg of fresh blue mussels

• 100g butter

• 3 diced red chillies

• 400g diced shallots

• 6 cloves of garlic

• 3 tbsp fresh thyme, roughly chopped

• 8 tbsp broad-leaved parsley, coarsely chopped

• 350ml dry white wine

• salt/pepper

• 250ml cream

• 600g fries

• 1.5 litres rapeseed oil

HOW TO

Lightly tap blue mussels on the kitchen counter, discarding those that do not close. Rinse well. Melt butter and fry onion and chilli, removing from the heat before they colour. Add herbs and stir, before adding white wine and cook until reduced by half. Add cream and season with salt and pepper. Add mussels and let them steam under the lid for 8 -10 minutes, stirring a few times. Cook fries in heated oil and fry for approximately 8 minutes. Serve mussels between four deep plates and serve with fries.

Salmon tartare with rhubarb

INGREDIENTS

• 300g smoked salmon

• 50g field lettuce

• 4 spring onions cut into small rings

• radish sprouts (garnish)

Pickled rhubarb:

• 200g rhubarb in small pieces

• 150ml water

• 3 tbsp sugar

• 3 tbsp apple cider vinegar

• juice of 1 lime

Egg yolk cream:

• 50g good quality mayonnaise

• 25g egg yolk

• 1 tsp apple cider vinegar

• salt/pepper

Pickled rhubarb: Bring water, sugar, lime juice/peel and vinegar to the boil. Add rhubarb to the stock and boil for 15 seconds. Remove the rhubarb from the sheet and refrigerate both parts.

Egg yolk cream: Whisk mayonnaise, egg yolk, vinegar, salt and pepper well together.

Distribute the lettuce on four plates, sprinkle with spring onions, distribute the rhubarb, and drizzle with a little brine. Divide salmon into small pieces and add drops of egg yolk cream. Garnish with radish sprouts.

Handmade Jewelry FROM DENMARK

I started my first jewellery business, Sorelle Jewellery, in 2009. After running it successfully for ten years, I chose to take a step back and pass the business on to new owners. Sorelle had grown so large I couldn’t manage It alone. The decision wasn’t easy, and I questioned myself many times. But looking back, it was the right thing for me to do.

I live in Randers, Denmark with my husband and our two children, Jack and Amy and I work part-time in finance. However, when I sold Sorelle, I realised that something was missing in my life. I felt a real creative void. I still wanted to make jewellery, but needed to do so in a way that worked for me; with a new concept.

WAYS TO WEAR THE GREY DRESS

Forgot about the little black dress, this season it’s all about the grey dress. An endlessly versatile addition to your wardrobe, this grey dress is a softer alternative to black and works beautifully with a range of colour palettes. Our favourite way to wear it for a relaxed everyday look is with a light knit and pants. Intricate details and striking wash effects add understated interest. Simply layer it over the top and leave fully unbuttoned for a loose, languid silhouette. Or, cinch at the waist with a belt or jacket to add subtle shaping to your look.

Shrimp sandwich

INGREDIENTS

6 brioche buns

• 450 g shrimp

• 100 g smoked salmon

• 3 avocados

• 50 g garlic sprouts

Herb Aioli:

• 2 egg yolks

• 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

• 1 tsp. Dijon mustard

• 1 teaspoon lemon juice

• 2 1/2 dl taste neutral oil

• 5 gr. fresh oregano

• 15 g thyme

• 40 gr. chive leaves

• Salt/pepper

Red onion chutney:

• 30 grams of butter

• 300 g. red onion, diced

• 3 tablespoons brown sugar

• 1 dl. beer

• 1 red chili finely diced

• 6 tablespoons red balsamic vinegar

HOW TO

Herb aioli: Blend herbs and oil until smooth. Whisk egg yolks, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, lemon and salt and pepper until fluffy. Add the herb oil and hand blend until the aioli is thick.

Red onion chutney: Melt butter and lightly fry onion and chilli. Add sugar and once melted, add beer and cook until thickened. Add balsamic vinegar to taste.

Spread the buns with aioli. Layer with prawns and avocado, before laying salmon on top. Add a good spoonful of onion chutney on each and garnish with garlic sprouts.

We were lucky enough to shoot our SS24 campaign at North Shore Surf in Løkken. A haven of beach fun and relaxation in the West Coast, North Shore Surf was the perfect setting for our coastal-themed campaign. A place dedicated to holistic wellness, North Shore Surf offers a range of activities designed to relax and revitalise mind, body and soul. Let it all go in the luxury saunas, which offer a stunning view of Løkken Pier, the fishing boats and the North Sea. The perfect place to relax after a day spent riding the waves. Winter bathers can warm up in the North Shore wilderness hot tub and admire views of the sea and Løkken Beach.
