Message from Bill Over the past 47 yrs since our organization was formed in Santa Maria over 50,000 youth have come through our doors. They are all our club Alumni. They are Educators, Accountants, Business owners and hard working adults in our community. Today a small group of them have formed an Alumni Club whose main purpose is to give back. This group has held Bar B Q’s, Burrito Dinners, and Valentine Events for Alumni members. They have done projects for our club like converting our Guadalupe Unit Teen Room into a workable Craft room, purchased a Water Slide for summer use for all 3 units, and will be painting the restrooms at our Railroad Unit. They help sponsor the food at our Back A Youth Nite event and help serve meals at our Holiday Dinner. Every Christmas they adopt a club family and provide them with food and presents. They most recently held a benefit BBQ for 5 yr old Leukemia patient Jilly Garcia. The values that the club helped instill in them as youth are now paying it forward to help other youth in our community. The Boys & Girls Club is a business and our Alumni are our product. We continue to need community support to help our current members become caring adults like our current Alumni. Please join me in our growing effort to ensure that Great Futures Start here at the Club. You can make a difference by making an investment to our upcoming CAMPAIGN FOR KIDS drive. Arturo is a Sophomore at Pioneer Valley HS. He has been a proud Boys & Girls Club member since the age of 7. Arturo participates in our Keystone leadership Club, our Basketball leagues and played ball for his high school last year. “The Club is like a big family for me”, shares Arturo. The youngest of three, Arturo hopes to pursue Sports Medicine in college.
