Fimiston South Pit Expansion APPROVED

Northern Star welcomes Minister Swinbourn’s conditional approval of our Fimiston South Project, which is an important step in the continued growth of our KCGM Operations and the broader Kalgoorlie-Boulder region.

With this key approval in place, we can now focus on safely and responsibly commencing work on Fimiston South to extend KCGM’s operating life.

This in turn, will underpin long-term social and economic benefits for the Kalgoorlie-Boulder region.

Fimiston Mill Expansion

By FY27, Northern Star will be ramping up the new Fimiston Mill following a three-year, $1.5 billion expansion to replace the old plant.

The new plant will more than double the processing capacity from 12 million tonnes a year currently, to 27 million tonnes a year.

Recently, General Manager of Kalgoorlie Operations, Corin Arcaro officially opened the Goldfields Health Centre, the Royal Flying Doctor Service’s first permanent GP clinic in Kalgoorlie.

Our partners in this initiative include:

• The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Western Australia

• Curtin University and its Goldfields University Department of Rural Health

• The WA Country Health Service

And of course, the dedicated health professionals who will bring this clinic to life. We’re proud to support the RFDS to help expand access to primary and allied health care in the region.

This new facility will help address the growing demand for local GP services and ensure that families across the Goldfields have access to consistent, trusted care close to home.

Air Quality - Dust

management

At KCGM, our Dust Monitoring and Management Program has been in place since 1993, guided by conditions set by the Minister for Environment. It is regularly updated. Major sources of dust at our Fimiston Operations include drilling, blasting, vehicle movement, ore and waste rock handling, wind erosion, and crushing activities.

We operate a comprehensive dust monitoring network across KalgoorlieBoulder, with seven air quality monitors and two wind monitors tracking conditions in real time.

We continually assess 24-hour average PM10 (air quality) levels, with results published daily on our website. View using the QR code.

WORKFORCE ACCOMMODATION update

Yarri Village APPROVED

During the construction phase of multiple growth projects, Northern Star is required to accommodate hundreds of additional workers.

We are unable to source sufficient rooms to cope with the scale or timing of the substantial increase in expected workforce levels.

Our priority is to develop workforce accommodation facilities at Yarri Village; near the Kalgoorlie Regional Core Yard. Works have begun and the facility is expected to be up and running by the first half of 2026.

We will oversee the operation and maintenance of Yarri Village, with sub-contractors for the Renewables Projects to be the main users of the facility.
