A vision of natural treasures After many years of world travel and living in the Caribbean, artistic carver Brett Sutherland has settled in Mangawhai where he has turned his property into a sanctuary. He has created space on his land to pursue his dream of creating totem poles of New Zealand native birds. Brett has also planted 2,500 native trees on the property to attract birdlife back to the area with birdhouses gracing the block to accommodate them.
