The meeting marked 20 years since the passing of club member John Britten who designed and built the iconic Britten motorcycles several of which went on to have international success on the race track. Council to review broadband coverage  by Kent Caddick

The Selwyn District Council is to conduct a review of broadband and cell phone coverage across the district.

The move comes after growing complaints from Selwyn residents living in broadband and cell phone black spots or with limited coverage. Council CEO David Ward said while it is not the council’s role to provide broadband or cell phone infrastructure council is about building better communities and communication is part of this.

“There are three other councils in the South Island which are carrying out similar reviews and once we have collated the information it may lead us to make a submission to central Government. “It is going to be a conversation with a community and we want to hear from individuals and businesses as well as health and education providers who may
