Mayor Craig Jepson was on-site for the opening of the Hokianga Road clinic last week. He was full of praise for the community-minded initiative shown by the Cottons, who purchased the then-empty dental surgery with the determination to bring vital services back to west Kaipara. Alongside the new dental practice, the chambers are now also home to a qualified podiatrist. “It’s a win for Dargaville and an indication of new growth, brought about by the can-do attitude of local people,” Mr Jepson said. The journey from an empty practice to this point of celebration has taken 11 months.
