Dargaville High School presiding commissioner Barbara Alaalatoa has been confirmed for another year’s tenure, and following a visit from the Education Review Office last week, has written a report highlighting positive change at the school. ‘As we head toward the end of term two and my first year as commissioner of Dargaville High School, I want to acknowledge the progress we have made and share some of the key developments across our kura. There is so much to celebrate,’ wrote Ms Alaalatoa. ‘Across the entire staff there has been a strong and genuine commitment to strengthen teaching practice and improve outcomes for students. It has been encouraging to see the professionalism, openness and care shown by staff as they continue to build stronger, more consistent classroom practice.’ Ms Alaalatoa praised the recent works which have seen the school’s entrance
