OPERATION SHANELALEADS TO BREAKTHROUGHS

Police have reported significant breakthroughs following a high-intensitypolicing initiative acrossthe Free State. Under Operation Shanela, law enforcement arrested 1356 suspects overthe past week, specifically targeting illicit contraband, vehiclecrimes, and illegalfirearms. Theoperations that were held from 16 to 22 March addressed drug-relatedcrimes,unlicensed and illegalpossession of firearms, possession of stolen goods, possession of suspected stolen vehicles, and the apprehension of illegalimmigrants. During the operation, 36 580 peopleweresearched and

A47-year-oldwoman wasarrested in Kroonstadon22March forpossessionofsuspected stolen livestock aftertwo sheep carcasseswerefound hidden in her house. In theAmelia section of
