In aworld searchingfor hope and direction, theHolySpirit remains apowerful, activepresence transforming both individuals andcommunities.
Formanybelievers, the Spiritis not just adoctrine, but adaily reality, bringingpeace in difficulty, clarity in decisions, and strength in weakness.
Personally, the Holy Spirit produces inner change that becomes outwardlyvisible
Livesonce marked by fear and confusion begin to reflectlove, joy, and self-control.
This transformation shapes character and deepens faith in practical ways
TheSpirit alsoempowerspeople for purpose.
Ordinaryindividuals are equipped to lead, serve, and ministerwith boldnessand compassion.
Spiritual gifts, such as teaching, encouragement, and discernment,
help build and strengthenthe church
In communities, the impact is tangible Spirit-led initiatives bring unity, healing, and care, especiallyin areasfacinghardship.
Outreach efforts, reconciliation, and acts of generosity reflectGod’s love in action.
Perhapsmostsignificant is the Spirit’s abilitytounite people across divisions
In diverseand often divided societies, this spiritual unity offers apowerful testimony of hope.
Themessage is clear: theHoly Spirit continues to move today, transforminghearts, empowering lives, and renewing communities from within.
As the church entersthe Pentecost season, let usembrace a renewedopenness to the work of the Holy Spirit

Localgovernmenthas driftedintoastate of self-preservation. Councils have largelyceased to be service deliveryvehicles, becoming instead hubs for budget squanderingand the circulation

Property investment is often soldassimple:
“Buy aproperty, rent it out, andlet the tenant payitoff.”
It sounds great -but in reality, it doesn't usually work that way. Especially notinamarket like Welkom.
Oneofthe biggest misunderstandingsisaround rentalincome
Many investorsexpect the rent to cover the bond, levies, andrates. But if you're buying with a100%bond, the numbers often don't addup. Even though rentals have increased overtime, they haven't increased enough to fullycover all expenses on highly financedproperties.
This is whereexpectations andreality start to clash.
Thetruth is: aproperty is not abad investment just becauseitdoesn't cover the bond. It becomes aproblem when
you can'tafford to holdit.
Beforeinvesting, you need to be in afinancial position where you can comfortablycarry the monthlycosts-without relying on therental income. Because vacancies happen, tenantsfall behind, and unexpected maintenance is part of the journey
Successful investors understand this.
They don'trely on rent to survive -they structure their dealsproperly:
Putting downadeposit to reduce their bond
Using cash from maturing investments
Buying at theright price, not just any price
They also understand something else many overlook:
Thecondition of theproperty directlyimpacts therental you achieve.
Andit'snot foreveryone. Propertyinvestment is not passive. It requires planning, patience, and theability to make informed decisions.
At QProp, we helpinvestors look beyond theidea of “itshould pay foritself” and focus on what actually makes sense -basedon real numbers and real market conditions
If you're thinking of investing, let's sitdownand work through the numbers together before you make adecision.

In today'smarket, tenantsare lookingfor modern, wellmaintained spaces. Updated kitchens, neat finishes, secure parking, and practicalfeatureslike prepaidelectricitymake areal difference.
I've seen landlords achieve better rentalssimplybyupgrading their units -but this requires time, effort, and upfront investment.

TheDepartmentofWater andSanitation (DWS) concludedNational WaterMonth with acall for citizens to pauseand appreciate this vitalresource that underpinsevery aspect of dailylife -frommaintaining health and hygiene, to food preparation andcooking.
TheUnited Nations (UN) designated22 MarchasWorld WaterDay in 1993 to highlight water's importance and raiseawarenessofthe millions who continue to livewithoutaccess to cleanand safe water. National WaterMonth builds on this foundation, emphasising the value of freshwaterand advocatingfor sustainable watermanagement.
This year's theme,Water and Gender, carried the slogan “WhereWater Flows, EqualityGrows,” focusing on women and girls in watersolutions whilstensuringtheir voices, leadership, and agencyare fullyrecognised in waterdecision-making. Thetheme highlights atransformative, rights-based approach to solvingwater challenges.
PemmyMajodina, ministerofwater and sanitation, commemorated WorldWater Dayat the Matjhabeng LocalMunicipality in Welkom, where she handedover21completedwastewatertreatmentworks and pump stations to the municipality. This demonstrates ongoing departmental efforts to supportmunicipalities in improvingaccesstoclean and reliable water services whilstprovidingdignified sanitation to communities
Waterhas becomeacontentious issueinmost communities, whereithas become scarcedue to inconsistent supplyorcompleteunavailability. TheDWS continues making interventions whilst workingwith variousstakeholderstoensure sustainable watersupplyfor currentand future generations
During WaterMonth activities across theFree State, communities were repeatedly remindedto protecttheir waterand sanitationinfrastructure from vandalism.Officials emphasised that the infrastructurebelongs to communitiesthemselves, makingprotectionessential
Thedepartment's campaignscontinue spreadingmessagesabout waterconservation and fixing household leaks. Atap that leaksone drop persecond mightseeminsignificant, but substantial waterislostwhen leaksremain unattended. Residents areurged to address anyleaks in their homes immediately.
Communities were remindedthatSouth Africa is awater-scarcecountry,receiving half the global averagerainfall. Thisscarcityintensifies duetorisingwater demands caused by population growth, urbanisation, and unsustainable waterusage practices
