Schools sports showdown
The countdown has begun for Metrogym Derby Day 2026, bringing fierce competition and community spirit to Kariega this Saturday, 2 May. Four local schools, namely Uitenhage High, McCarthy Comprehensive, Gamble Street Secondary School and John Walton Secondary School will battle across rugby, soccer, and netball at the Derrick Ferreira Stadium, in Kariega, with Uitenhage High School hosting this year’s annual tournament.
