VWGA welcomes 675 YES trainees Volkswagen Group Africa has taken on 675 new trainees in 2026 through the Youth Employment Service programme. The programme was launched as a public-private partnership by the South African presidency and the country’s private sector in 2018, to help address youth unemployment by creating work experience opportunities. It offers young people the opportunity to gain practical work experience while developing skills that can improve their future employment prospects. Of the 675 trainees, 288 will be placed at VWGA’s facilities in Kariega and Johannesburg, with the remaining 387 placed with external partners. Read the full story on page 3. PHOTO: SUPPLIED
