KOEBERG PUMP STATION PHASE 1 NEARS COMPLETION

retired teacher, Sylvia Kirstein (70) from Melkbosstrand, was found murdered in the garage of her home in Drommedaris Street last Wednesday, prompting Melkbosstrand police to open an investigation into a case of murder and housebreaking. Western Cape police spokesperson Sgt Wesley
Twigg said the circumstances surrounding her death were still under investigation. “It is still unclear what was taken from the house, and this is part of the ongoing investigation,” he said. “The
suspect or suspects fled the scene and have not yet been arrested.” Kirstein and her husband were alone at the time of the incident; he was found unharmed. It was still unclear whether the couple had any children. The police still had not released any further details at this time. CPF APPEALS FOR RESTRAINT AND COOPERATION The Melkbosstrand Community
Policing Forum (CPF) also issued a statement confirming the details of the incident were still under investigation. The CPF appealed to the public to refrain from speculation. “The police are working diligently to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and to identify those responsible,” it stated.
