ith a concerning patter of serious vehicle accidents on Darwin that becomes Marlborough road in Kraaifontein, Ward councillor Rhynhard Bresler has suggested to the administration
that a safety audit to assess the area and help determine what additional measures may be needed to prevent further incidents in what is believed to be a high-accident zone. Speaking to TygerBurger last week, Bresler said possible interventions could include

orange warning lights and extra road signage to alert drivers. Several previous applications
brought by Bresler to install traffic calming measures - such as speed humps and raised intersections - were unsuccessful due to the road being categorized as a Class 3 road, albeit that it mainly goes through a residential area. A Class 3 road is a road that
distributes traffic between principal residential, industrial, and business districts, acting as a link between the primary network and roads within residential areas, Bresler explains. TO PAGE 2
