The Cape Winelands Airport is no longer just aplan, it is nowa national priority.The development hasbeen awarded asignificant status placing it on afast-trackedregulatory pathwayand signalling asignificant shiftfrom planning into execution.
The development has been formally awarded StrategicIntegrated Project status, as designated SIP 17 by Infrastructure South Africa,signed on 4 June
JamesVos, Maycomember foreconomic growth in the CityofCape Town, welcomed the announcement.
"This is an important milestone for the project. It places it on afasttracked regulatory pathway under the Infrastructure Development Act (Act 23 of 2014), with all relevant organs of state requested to prioritise the necessary approvals, licences, authorisations and exemptions," said Vos.
MOVETOEXECUTION
The designation recognisesthe national strategic importance of the development and supports amorecoordinated delivery process. Vos noted that construction and financing partners are nowinplace, signalling ashift from planning into execution.

CONTROVERSIAL
Noakes became highly controversial after challengingmainstreamdietary guidelines to promotethe Banting diet It culminated in amulti-year hearing by the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) after being charged with unprofessional conduct. After extensive scientific testimony, he wasacquitted in 2017 Noakes, who has faced backlash after his commentsonthe novel coronavirusin 2020, said while he got someinformation wrong, one thing remains true in that diabetics and those with heart diseaseare at much greater risk of dying.

Nie een van hulle is tydensapartheid gebore nie. Nie een van hulle hetdaardeur geleef nie. Diegeskiedenis iswel vir baie van hulle belangrik, maar ditwordnie meer gesien as 'n geldige rede om 'n dag op te gee om by die stembus tou te staannie Hul besluite word geneem volgens wat hulle vandag hoor en sien.
Nou, wat dan van 'n beter toekoms?
Die meeste sien deur dieslimpraatjies en leëbeloftes van die politici. Hulle sien die dadeendie stand van sake inons land wat getuig van 31 jaar se leëbeloftes vir 'n beter toekoms.

Fallen Angels Pet Rescue in Melkbosstrand has announced it will temporarily close its doors to all new dog and cat intakes for the next six months, citing severe financial strain and overwhelming capacity challenges.
