Atotal of 28 local artistswill be exhibiting at thisyear’s Noordhoek Open Studios event which is organised by exhibiting artist and owner ofNoordhoek ArtPoint, Aimee Kruger. Noordhoek Open Studios beganinthe 1990s as acharity-driven initiative–a

wayfor artists to come together and raise much-needed funds for local causes.

This year all exhibiting artists will open their doors and offerart enthusiasts a chance to meet the artists. They will also offerthem access to observe the artworks in progress, and purchase directly from creators

Kruger emphasises the event’sdual mission of showcasing local talent while supporting community development. This year all entry ticket proceeds benefit Masi Sports, anon-profit organisation

(NPO) providing structured sportsand arts programmestochildren with limited access to such opportunities. Last year’s event raised R43000 for the cause, with organisers aiming to double that amount this year. “We created Open Studios to celebrate the incredible creative talent we have here in Noordhoek, but it’s also aboutconnection,” says Kruger.
