It also proposes practicalsolutions ranging from mentorship programmestoskills development workshops.

Reflecting on theengagement, Bamsaid youngpeopleshoweda strong willingness to be part of community solutions. “Being part of theseconversations allows us to understand therealchallenges we face andworktogether to find solutions. Youngpeoplecannotwaitfor change,wemustbepartofit,”hesaid.

Severalproposals emergedfromthe dialogue

Theseinclude establishing regularyouth-police forums to maintain open communication, increasing police visibility in non-enforcement rolessuchasschool andcommunity events, andcreatingsaferecreationalspacesand after-school programmestokeep youngpeople engaged.
