Ohio volunteers bring warmth
The Rotary Club of Port Elizabeth West recently hosted a team from Voluntour, an organisation based in Ohio, USA, that organises tours worldwide. These tours include visits to popular tourist attractions as well as community upliftment projects, where volunteers lend a helping hand and distribute useful donations. During their visit the team handed several hundred beanie hats, knitted by volunteers in Ohio, out. They visited the MTR Smit Children’s Haven in Springfield, Missionvale Care Centre, Akhanani Community Centre in Booysens Park and Malabar Home for the Aged, where, after meeting residents, they assisted by painting walls.
