Thecustodian’soffice is asubtle brickbuildingonthe north side and just acrossthe street from this SirHerbert Baker-designedmemorial. Butithas been hijackedbyvagrants,resultinginvandalism and residential usebyuntidytrespassers

This happeneddespitethe fact that it is in the public eye, with thousands of motorists and pedestrians passing it everyday at this oldesttrafficcircle in Kimberley– wherestreets from five directions come together,including the N8.

Furthermore, the custodian’soffice is in closeproximitytotwo wellknownhighschools and rightnext to astate-of-the-arthockeyastroturf It hasbecome apointofconcern for community safetyand heritage preservation.

On aFacebook discussion, concernedcitizen HenryMeier remarked, “the structureseems to be well maintained with asturdysecuritygate,
