Seafood export drive launched
German trade specialists visited Eastern Cape rock lobster farms and seafood processors last week to assess their readiness for European export markets. The delegation, working with the Eastern Cape Development Corporation, toured operations in Mtakatyi, Port St John’s, and Gqeberha as part of a programme to connect local producers with EU buyers. The initiative, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, aims to boost small-scale fishing communities whilst meeting international compliance standards.
