Water woes blamed on theft, vandalism Theft and vandalism of municipal water infrastructure have been blamed for the continued water outages affecting the Buffalo City Metro’s inland and midland regions over the past five weeks. Residents recently took to the streets and blockaded the busy N2 road linking Qonce and KuGompo City, protesting against prolonged water and electricity outages. Amatola Water announced a planned water supply shutdown, which started on Saturday and is scheduled to continue until Sunday, 14 June, affecting several communities in Buffalo City Metro’s inland region.
