This comesafter Nthimotse Mokhesi, expelledheadofthe Free StateDepartmentofHuman Settlement, indicated that he was goingtoapplyfor LegalAid representation.

During ashortappearance on Monday 2March,the courtheard that this application for legalrepresentation hasbeendeclined

This means that although Mokhesipreviously hadlegal representation, he currentlyiswithout a legalrepresentative.

Mokhesiisstill waitingfor a revision of LegalAid SA on national level.

Magashule is accused of stealing public moneyset aside to audit governmenthouseswith asbestos roofs in 2014, when he waspremier of the Free State.

He is chargedwith multiple counts of fraud, corruption and moneylaunderingallegedlycommitted

Theallegations revolvearound theequivalentofR255 million in asbestos audit contracts awarded duringex-presidentJacob Zuma’s graft-taintedtenureof2009 to 2018.

Thehazardous roofs were never removed.

Theother accused include five companies and chargescomprise fraud, corruption, money launderingand the contraventionofthe LawonPublic Financial Management.
