Thesuspect appeared in the Bloemfontein Magistrates’Court on Monday 15 June followinghis arrest on Friday Thepolice in Bloemfontein confirmed that both Centlecand Telkompositivelyidentified the electrical equipmentastheir property Lt.Col ThaboCovane,spokespersonfor the Free Statepolice,saidthat massivequantities of copper cables were concealedunder largequantities ofrecyclable materials loadedon awhiteVolvoFHhorse-and-trailer truck. He said theyhad been burned and stripped to eliminatecompany-specificmarkings.

Agroup of roughly400 learners competed in spelling beeand storyreviewcompetitions held by theDepartmentofEducation in theMangaung District.
Theeventswereheld at the FaunaPrimary School from 1June to 4June,with participants from schools within Mangaung.
TheFreeState Departmentof Education hosts thesecompetitions to sharpen the minds of learnersin literacyand language development.
PatriciaBaas, senior education specialistfor English (Gr.4 to Gr.7), said theseyearlycompetitions provide learnerswith an opportunitytodemonstrate their language proficiency, confidence and critical thinkingskills.She said thedistrict-levelcompetitions produced 24 learnerswho advance to the Mangaung District Round.
