Technology at Notre Dame
BRING YOUR OWN DEVICE (BYOD)
Technology is an integral part of the learning experience at Notre Dame. Through our Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program,
WHAT TO KNOW
Students are expected to have a personal laptop for school use, similar to other required supplies. Notre Dame is a platformneutral environment, so students may use either a Mac or PC, as long as the device meets school requirements.
Devices should be reliable for daily use and capable of connecting to Wi-Fi, supporting Google Workspace, and running standard school software.
Most tablets, including iPads, cannot serve as a student’s primary device, as they do not support all required applications. However, they may be used as a secondary device.
Students should bring their device fully charged each day, use it responsibly in and out of the classroom, and keep it in good working condition. Students are responsible for the care and maintenance of their device.
A device is required by the first day of school. Families may wish to consider a protective case or warranty for long-term use.

Transportation & Carpool
GETTING TO CAMPUS
Families are responsible for arranging daily transportation to and from campus. The campus is open from 7:15am to 6:00pm for students who need to arrive early or stay later for academic or co-curricular activities.
CARPOOLING
Each year, more than 300 families participate in Notre Dame’s carpool network. Over the summer, families will receive access to a carpool list through PowerSchool. This regularly updated list includes general location details —such as zip codes and cross streets — to help identify nearby families.
Carpool arrangements are coordinated directly between families. Notre Dame provides the list as a resource but does not organize or assign carpools.
DROP-OFF & PICK-UP
All families should use the ND/280 parking lot for student dropoff and pick-up:
• Enter from 3rd Street and follow the designated traffic flow
• Exit onto 2nd Street after drop-off
• The lot is open during designated morning and afternoon windows
Please note: this lot is for loading and unloading only and is not available for general student parking.
OTHER TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS
Students may also:
• Use public transportation (VTA light rail, bus, Caltrain)
• Ride the school shuttle to and from Diridon Station
• Bike to campus using nearby bike lanes and on-campus bike racks

Textbooks
Textbooks are ordered through the BNC Online Bookstore.
• Late June: Student schedules released via PowerSchool
• June 29: Bookstore opens
• Order textbooks after reviewing your student’s schedule
To access the correct book list, log in using your student’s school ID, as listed in PowerSchool.
Families may choose from new, used, rental, or digital (eText) options. If purchasing books from another retailer, please ensure the ISBN matches exactly to confirm the correct edition.

Summer Reading
SUMMER READING (9TH GRADE – COLLEGE PREP & HONORS)
All incoming 9th grade students are expected to complete summer reading and come prepared to use their selected texts as learning resources when classes begin in August. These books will be incorporated into both English and Ethnic Studies/Social Studies courses.

Uniforms
DAILY DRESS EXPECTATIONS
Students are expected to be in uniform each school day, with all visible clothing consisting of Notre Dame-approved items unless otherwise communicated.
On most days, students may wear approved combinations of uniform skirts, pants, shorts, or sweatpants paired with Notre Dame polos, spirit shirts, sweaters, or sweatshirts. Skirts should be an appropriate length, and shoes must be closedtoe and secure for safety.
On designated days—such as liturgies, prayer services, and special assemblies—students are required to wear the formal uniform. Families will be notified of these days in advance.
Students may wear Notre Dame spirit wear on designated days, such as Regent First Fridays, with uniform bottoms. Additional dress-down days will be communicated throughout the year. Students enrolled in PE will change into appropriate athletic clothing for class.

Uniforms are available through Merry Mart Uniforms, both in-store and online. We strongly recommend visiting the store in person when possible, as online orders may experience shipping delays during the summer.
