New beginnings offer new opportunities Dear friends, Happy New Year! Another new beginning for us as we walk through the scriptures to hear God’s promise of salvation for all from other viewpoints and with new experiences in our lives, especially those from this past year of 2020. I appreciate new beginnings. How about you? New beginnings abound. Some are difficult as we face the loss of a loved one or the loss of employment and a financial crunch, a serious illness, or the isolation and loneliness thrust upon us at times. We still haven’t been able to gather in person with loved ones. If we have, it has been with an abundance of caution. Some beginnings have been good—the healing of a relationship strained for many years, or the return to health after an illness. Or the witness of the dedicated service of personnel caring for the sick, the scientists looking for a vaccine, a nation praying for healing. Some losses and gains have made me realize that our basic call in life is to bring about the reign of God for all by loving all, no matter who they might be. I wish to see all as Jesus sees them and love them as Jesus does. What can I do each day to further God’s reign? More importantly, who can I be? A Prayer for Law Enforcement and their Families ~ Sr. Stephanie Matcha, ND Oh God, Our Eternal Energy and Force, You have blessed our Country with brave men, women, K-9’s and horses who protect us and defend our freedom.
Comfort the families, co-workers and friends who mourn and are left to remember the precious lives of their loved ones.
May Your protection and Grace surround them each day. Help us to Honor and Support them. May their families be blessed with strength for the sacrifices they make and the support they give to those who serve and protect.
Loving God, Your Heart is our Home, from you we have come, with You do we journey through these challenging days in our city and world
Let your healing hand be upon those who suffer wounds and injuries. May those who have made the ultimate sacrifice rest forever in your Holy Presence.
May our Law Enforcements’ Journey be blessed with Faith, Courage and Peace. Amen!
O God, may I gratefully and graciously welcome each new day aware of your guiding, loving, faithful presence. May I respectfully greet each person I meet, walk humbly and gently on the earth and honor deeply the amazing blessings that come through the events of this day. For this I pray, Amen.
Thanks for your generous gifts from our Amazon Wish List - passing them out was a blessing! We were all overwhelmed and amazed at the outpouring of generosity. More than 215 items were purchased and delivered directly to the Sisters. These gifts such as lift chairs, walkers, and wheelchairs will go a long way towards keeping us safe and comfortable all winter long. The smaller items were a huge hit as well, especially since some items are hard to find. Even the simple gift of toilet paper and toothpaste meant a lot to us! See more photos on our Facebook page!
