THE NOTES FOR NOTES SONIC STATEMENT There will be a future where all youth who desire to experience producing music will have the opportunity. There will be no barriers to what, how, why or when they create the music they desire. Music will be the catalyst that helps them discover an identity and a path. Notes for Notes will be the first door they walk through in every community that embraces their desire to begin a musical journey. The studio is the environment, music is the tool, and our focus is helping them build Confidence, Creativity, Compassion, and Community that will prepare them for whatever path they choose.
THE NOTES FOR NOTES MISSION Notes for NotesÂŽ is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing youth with completely FREE access to music instruments, instruction and recording studio environments so that music may become a profoundly positive experience in their lives.
Notes for Notes Studios are packed with guitars, drums, keys/synths, DJ gear, digital music stations and professional recording gear offering youth completely FREE access to explore, create, and record music. Located inside Boys & Girls Clubs and after-school centers in underserved areas around the country, every studio is staffed by a N4N team member. These producers educate, encourage, and listen to each youth member to help them be their best selves, both personally and artistically. We believe in freedom of expression. When on the mic, in the safe space of the vocal booth, youth are not censored. It is our mission to help our artists craft their own unique messages, which are authentic expressions of what they are personally experiencing. It is this freedom that starts the conversation about their musical and personal identities. At our core, we are focused on building relationships, and we have found the most organic and engaging way to do so is through music. The Studio is the environment. Music is the tool. Our team are the architects that help our youth build Confidence, Creativity, Compassion and Community.

For two hours a day, twice a week for 6 months Montage, comprised of Jasmine, Kevin, and Gabe, have been recording their first ever full length album, 11309. All students of the Cleveland School of Arts they converse about everything from the alternative 60’s bands they love to the best camera phone angles to take pics of Chuck Taylor sneakers. They prefer to stand apart from others their age. They consider themselves “weirdos” and fully embrace it. Last year they came in 2 nd at the Tri-C Rock Hall of Fame Rock Off. They wanted first! They spent the year with a level of seriousness and sacrifice unlike before and this year… they won first place! Keep an eye out for Montage and their debut album.

Rika Shambae is a 16 year old rapper and singer born on the east side in Austin, TX. When moments of pain and vulnerability surfaced, she would express her feelings through lyrics. She has an abundance of lyric filled notebooks which made her introduction to the studio explosive. The studio has become her second home. With now over 16 songs recorded, a handful of m u s i c v i d e o s , a n d s e ve r a l l i ve performances, it’s easy to see that she has found her passion.
