VIBES SHOWCASE This month we hosted our Vibes Showcase, where youth had an opportunity to perform in a variety of artistic mediums and were able to practice performing in a safe and supportive environment. We had poems, ukulele, singing, music videos, podcasts, rapping, DJing and saxophone.
LIVE, LOVE, LOOP The Rebel youth have been cooking up plenty beats on the Boss RC-505 live looping station. Here Ty is looping a pattern from the MiniNova while Annise is jamming out on the ukulele.

Ty (A.K.A. Thee Prodigy) released his first EP April 1st and is now available on Spotify and Apple Music! Ty masterfully mashes up the hard hitting street sound with poetic conscientious and thought provoking lyrics. It also features other rebel youth, Jay and Aleah.

UKE-BOX HERO asdasd At the vibes showcase we were did a Ukulele cover of Danielle’s song, “Morning Remembrance”. We arranged it for ukulele by slowing it down and making it a little more pensive. UNFORGETABLE In honor of Women’s History month Jay is performed a cover of Natalie Cole’s “Unforgetable” with G on guitar and KC on the drums with brushes. Her warm tone and impeccable range makes her version simply... unforgettable. She was nervous to perform but was glad that she did afterwards as she knocked it out of the park! Stay tuned for her studio version set to release next month.
DJ Dance Party Also at the vibes showcase Tiera and Neveah were holding down the 1's and 2's during transitions at the vibes showcase. At the end they got to show off their skills in the booth with a DJ set, which ended up with an all-out dance party!
