Larena brought in a friend who needed us to produce a beat for him to rap on. It was a great learning experience for her as she had to work quickly and under pressure, and I helped her to stay in the creative flow and express ideas efficiently.
NEW DIMENSION- JUNNY Junny loves hip hop and wanted to learn how to program a trap beat, but he wanted to learn how to sample live drums as well. So we worked together throughout the week to make a beat switching between two grooves. We learned about half time and how to slow a beat down without changing tempo.
QUICK STEPPIN- TY BANDS For our commonpoint graduation, Tyrell and I got together to write a track about the accomplishments and milestones all the GED youth have reached in Commonpoint's programs. The track got to play over the speakers as the students accepted their diplomas.

CHILL GAME- ELIANA Eliana took her first stab at making a beat the other day when we found a mellow splice sample that she wanted to sing over. We put together the rest of the parts, then she got on the mic and completely improvised the vocal part in one take. Congrats to Eliana for her first recorded vocals!

TIM DROPS BY TO JAM WITH YOUTH Tim has recently started coming by our studio on thursdays to visit the youth and lead some jams in the live room. Junior member, Ana, took a break from a beat she was working on to pick up the drum sticks and get her first lesson from the drum guru himself. Looking forward to the process of training up some new players in our program!
YOUNG ROCKERS GUITAR WORKSHOP We have been getting started on beginner guitar lessons for our young explorers! Through a guided company workshop, I was able to get my bearings on guitar enough to be able to get the youth started on chords and melodies. Elayna and Mason sat together to practice making different chord shapes and using different notes to come up with a melody.
