BRI THE BLUES DRUMMER
NO BASS ALL TREBLE
Brianna recently grew an affinity for the drums. After learning her first beat, Bri has been hard at work perfecting her time and feel. One of her favorite ways to practice time and feel is to play along with a blues backing track. This backing track has helped her to understand song form, as well as the difference between a hi-hat groove and the ride cymbal. Brianna’s next goal is to add drum fills for build ups and transitions.
Not only does Greta love to play the piano, but she also loves to read music. Greta has been working hard at reading notes and counting rhythms. She hopes to be a master sight-reader and play classical music. In the picture above, Greta is practicing right hand on C and is reading rhythms that make use of whole, half, quarter, and eighth notes. She has also learned to read and play Jingle Bells, Hot Cross Buns, and Ode To Joy!
