SONGWRITING SESSIONS WITH SAMANTHA

Devon has been taking a lot of interest in production and loves jersey club beats. We have started to learn the basics of ableton where we will make a collaborative beat. We have started to memorize specific hotkeys and each person will add their own idea until we have enough to arrange!
With the younger youth, we have been working on practicing our verses before recording them. Sometimes, the younger youth are very excited to get into the booth, but we have been working on slowing down and being more intentional with what we are saying. Here is a video of Samantha practicing her part before going in and recording!

NEW ELI DYON Eli has not stopped working in the studio. This song is a different kind of vibe. He is leaning into a quieter, more solemn style for this one. Still a work in progress, but we are excited to see how it turns out in the new year!
KEYS TO LIFE Eli’s second track has been released. This song has a very introspective first half and then there is a beat and tempo switch! We took some inspiration from the song “Dreams and Nightmares” by Meek Mill and analyzed what made that song so effective, and then applied it to our own song
BLOCK 2.0 REMIX Sam wanted to make a remix of one of his favorite songs from his favorite show. We learned about how to adjust tempos to fit the sample, how to be selective with different melodic ideas we come up with, and how to chop up amen breaks!
